In 2009 Oliver J. Schmitz got a full professor in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Wuppertal (BUW). Between 2010 and 2012 he was the chair of the Analytical Chemistry department at BUW. Since 2013 Schmitz has been a full professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen and is the chair of the Institute of Applied Analytical Chemistry.
2009 he cofounded the company iGenTraX UG which develops new ion sources and units to couple separation techniques with mass spectrometers. In 2011 he was one of the founding directors of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Pure and Applied Mass Spectrometry, University of Wuppertal.
The research fields of Prof. Schmitz are the development of ion sources, use and optimization of comprehensive LC and GC, ion mobility-mass spectrometry and coupling analytical techniques with mass spectrometers. He was awarded the Gerhard-Hesse Prize for chromatography in 2013.

Luigi Mondello is Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Messina, Italy, where he received a degree in Chemistry in 1991. He is the author of about 430 publications, co-editor of the books "Multidimensional Chromatography" (John Wiley & Sons), and "Citrus oil: Composition, Advanced Analytical Techniques, Contaminants, and Biological Acitivity" (CRC Press - Taylor & Francis Group); editor of the book "Comprehensive Chromatography in Combination with Mass Spectrometry", ("Wiley-Interscience Series on Mass Spectrome-try"). He has been chairman and invited lecturer in national and international congresses and meetings (1050 conference presentations of which 183 invited oral presentations). In the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) he has an H-index of 41 and a total impact factor of about 863.
His research interests include: high-resolution chromatography techniques (HRGC, HPLC, HRGC-MS, HPLC-MS, SFE and SFC, OPLC), hyphenated (LC-GC-MS, GC-GC) and multi-dimensional "comprehensive" (GC×GC, LC×LC, LCxGC, SFCxUPLC) techniques coupled to mass spectrometry and their applications to the study of natural complex matrices.
Prof. Mondello has been member of the organizing committees of national and international meetings and he is permanent member of the scientific committee of the ISCC, ISEO, HTC, SIMCRO, and COLACRO conferences. He has been Chairman of the "36th ISCC and the 9thGCxGC Symposium", "14th ExTech", "38th ISCC and the 11thGCxGC Symposium", "40th ISCC and the 13thGCxGC Symposium". He is Editor in Chief of the "Journal of Essential Oil Research" (Taylor & Francis), "Journal of Quality Assurance and Pharma Analysis" (Innova-tional Publishers), Editor of Food Analytical Methods (Springer), Journal of Separation Sci-ence (Wiley-VCH), he has been editor of "Flavour and Fragrance Journal" (John Wiley & Sons), member of the Advisory Board of LC-GC Europe, Separation Science, The Analytical Scientist, and Scientia Chromatographica.
He has been awarded with the "HTC-Award" (2006), "Silver Jubilee Medal" and "COLACRO Medal" (2008), "Liberti Medal" (2012), "The Analytical Scientist Innovation Awards (TASIAs 2013 and 2015), IFEAT Medal" (2014), "Life Time Achievements in Comprehensive Gas Chromatography" (2016). He is present in the "Power List" of the top 100 most influential peo-ple in the analytical sciences (The Analytical Scientist Journal).

Dr. habil. Frank Steiner

Dr. Frank Steiner is currently managing an applications laboratory and coordinating scientific collaborations in the HPLC organization of Thermo Fisher Scientific. He received his PhD degree in Chemistry in 1995 from the Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany working on development of stationary phases for IC. He then became a postdoctoral research fellow at the CEA, Saclay in France focusing on elementary and isotopic analysis by IC and IC-ICP/MS in 1996. Frank returned to Saarland University in 1997 to conduct research on electro-driven separation, LC purification and MS coupling technologies and became an assistant professor in 2003.
In 2005 Frank joined Dionex GmbH in Germering, Germany now a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, as the manager for LC systems. Frank played a significant role in developing and launching the UltiMate 3000 UHPLC systems and the recently introduced Vanquish UHPLC systems. He published over 20 publications in refereed journals and several text book chapters on HPLC method development and optimization.

Regional Business Development Manager Liquid Phase Separations
Shane has been involved in the Asia Pacific region for the past 15 years covering India, Chi-na, Japan, South Korea and the Pacific Region. He has help developed customer focused solutions in laboratory automation, sample preparation, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. Shane has had previous experience in manufacturing and research & devel-opment in laboratory automation, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and chromatography data systems (CDS). His current role is the Regional Business Development Manager for Liquid Phase Separations, focusing on the South East Asia and Pacific region for Agilent Technologies.

Dr. Li Xiao
Dr. Li Xiao joined GERSTEL LLP Singapore as an application chemist in 2013 where he is responsible for running the applications laboratory for GERSTEL LLP and supporting GERSTEL customers' applications in South East Asia and China. He holds a Ph.D. degree in food science from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a bachelor's degree in biological science from Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

Hans-Joachim Huebschmann graduated as Certified Food Chemist from the Technical University in Berlin, Germany, working on residue analysis of anabolic agents and pesticides in foods.
Hans started his career in diagnostics, medical analytical instruments and application development working for a number of German companies in chromatography, mass spectrometry and in biotechnology. In 2002 he joined Thermo Fisher Scientific in Bremen, Germany, and held several international positions covering inorganic and isotope ratio mass spectrometry, high resolution GC-MS and GC-MS/MS, specializing in food safety, forensic and dioxin analysis. In 2015 Hans established the independent consulting agency HANS Analytical Solutions and joined CTC Analytics AG in Switzerland for the development of automated sample preparation workflows. In his current capacity Hans is located in Osaka, Japan, as the Vice President Sales of CTC Analytics for the emerging Asia/Pacific region.
Hans is the author of the popular Wiley "Handbook of GC-MS", available internationally already in is 3rd edition in 2015, 776 pages, ISBN: 978-3-527-33474-2.
Dr. Eberhard Kuhn
Dr. Eberhardt Kuhn joined Restek in 2004 and is now the Territory Manager for Asia/Pacific. After completing his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, he worked for BioRad Laboratories, J&W Scientific, and Agilent Technologies in research, development, and applications of chromatography consumables. Through his research and fundamental work in column chemistry, Dr. Kuhn has made valuable contributions to the development of GC columns with lowest bleed and highest inertness. In addition to his publications about chromatography, Dr. Kuhn has conducted training seminars and presentations in over 30 countries.

Prof. Dr. Guowang Xu received his ph.D in Dalian institute of chemical physics (DICP), Chi-nese Academy of Sciences in Jun., 1991. Subsequently, he has joined the National chroma-tographic R. & A. center and has been one head of the chromatographic groups since 1992 and an associate Professor since Jun., 1994. From Oct., 1995 to Sept.,1997, Prof. Xu was working at the Universitaet Medizinische Klinik in Tuebingen, Germany under a fellowship from Max-Planck-Institute. In Nov., 1997 he was promoted to professor at DICP. In 2004 he obtained the foundation for distinguished young scientists from National Natural Science Foundation of China. Now he is the deputy-director of biotechnology division and director of Metabonomics Research Center in DICP.
Prof. Xu has published more than 350 peer-reviewed papers in SCI journals and holds more than 40 China patents, co-written 4 books. He was also the co-Chairman of 30th ISCC in China, 33rd HPLC in Japan and 37th HPLC in Dalian, China and member of permanent sci-entific committee of HPLC.
His main research fields are in the chromatography-related research and the MS-based metabolomics applications in disease biomarker discovery, traditional Chinese medicines and food safety.

Prof. Dr. Gerhard K. E. Scriba
Prof. Dr. Gerhard K. E. Scriba was born in Wemding, Germany on October 1, 1956. He graduated from the School of Pharmacy, Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn in 1979. Following a year of internships in public pharmacies and obtaining his license as a pharmacist in 1980. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph.D. in 1984 at Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Westfälische WilhelmsUniversity Münster. From 1986 to 1988 he worked as a post-doc at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, USA before returning to the University of Münster where he finished his habilitation in 1995. Since 1999 he is a full professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and served as head of the School of Pharmacy from 2005 to 2013. He received the Rottendorf-Prize for Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1995 and the Johann-Wolfgang-Döbereiner-Prize of the German Pharmaceutical Association in 1997.
Prof. Scriba has published over 140 research and review papers and 16 book chapters. He is editor of the book Chiral Separations and co-editor of the journal Chromatographia and the series Commentary to the European Pharmacopoeia (Arzneibuch-Kommentar). Prof. Scriba is a member of the editorial boards of the journals Electrophoresis, Journal of Separation Science, Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, Pharmeuropa and Die Pharmazie and served as guest editor of the paper symposia "Pharmaceutical Analysis" of Electrophoresis. He is a member the scientific advisory board of the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), the working group Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the German Pharmacopoeia and the scientific commission of the German Drug Codex (DAC). His main research interests are the analysis of drugs and peptides including stereoisomer analysis by capillary electrophoresis and HPLC as well as capillary electrophoresis-based enzyme assays.

Dr. Sven W. Meckelmann

From 2005 to 2010, Sven Meckelmann studied Food Chemistry at the University of Wuppertal (BUW) and subsequently started his PhD studies at the BUW in the department of Food Chemistry in the group of Prof. Michael Petz. During that time, he characterized secondary plant metabolites in native chili peppers from Peru and Bolivia and successfully finished his PhD in 2014.
After an intermediate Postdoc in the research group of Prof. Nils Helge Schebb where he developed targeted LC-MS methods for the characterization of oxidized lipid species, he joined the Lipidomics group of Prof. Valerie O´Donnell at the Cardiff University in 2015. During his postdoctoral research at the Cardiff University, he analysed the plasma lipidome of rare genetic risk variants for cardiovascular disease.
Since December 2016, Meckelmann is a senior scientist in the research group of Prof. Oliver Schmitz at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the Institute of Applied Analytical Chemistry. His research interests are non-targeted and targeted lipidomics of biological active compounds, bioanalytical chemistry as well as chromatographic separation coupled with mass spectrometry. He was awarded with the Josef Schormueller award (research scholarship) of the German Chemical Society (GDCh), division of Food Chemistry in 2016.

In 2001, Izumi Ogata joined Hitachi, Ltd. as an engineer for mass spectrometry development. She contributed to the product "Nano Frontier" series, which consisted of a nano flow HPLC and a linear ion trap – time of flight mass spectrometer, in the nano-flow LC and the ion source. Between 2009 and 2013, she was an engineer for liquid chromatograph development team in Hitachi High-Technologies Corp. During these years, she contributed to the products "Chromaster" HPLC series and "Chromaster Ultra Rs" UHPLC series. Since 2013, she has been working for "Chromaster 5610" MS detector.
Izumi Ogata holds a Master of Science degree from University of Tsukuba, Japan.
